The beloved Humpback whale loves visiting Maui's warm waters. Females come to breed and birth their young between November and April, when whale watching is a fun and popular activity for all, locals and visitors alike.
Years ago, I would park at the Hoʻokipa lookout on Maui, set up my jewelry on a beach chair and enjoy the day as I chatted with people, selling my pieces. During whale season we were often treated to spectacular shows put on by these visiting giants. I loved it, and always felt so lucky to have these majestic animals so close by.
To honor of these revered creatures, I've created this pendant depicting the iconic whale fluke, familiar and dear to so many of us.
Entirely hand carved and cast in solid sterling silver. Comes with an 18" sterling silver chain.
